2002-2003

The band returns to competition and again wins the Honors section (by 0.2 points!) at NABBA XXI in Little Rock, Arkansas. The competition pieces were The Undaunted (Eric Ball), Images for Brass (Stephen Bulla) and Flying the Breeze (Philip Sparke). To commemorate the band’s 10th anniversary, a special concert is held with guest trumpet soloist Vince DiMartino, and guest conductor Dr. Ron Holz. The concert included the debut of the Cincinnati Honors Band directed by Greg Mills. The CBB also performed benefit concerts for the Cincinnati Symphony and Habitat for Humanity, and played with the CCM Brass Choir in a series of Cincinnati Pops concerts. The band also performed at Armstrong Chapel, Evendale, the 8th Brass Band Festival in Ashland, KY, and in Van Wert & St. Marys, Ohio. Dwight Wages steps down as president to pursue colder interests in Canada.
