2004-2005

At NABBA XXIII in St. Charles Illinois, the band again placed a close third in the Honors section, playing Coventry Variations (Bramwell Tovey) and Firestorm (Stephen Bulla), although the scores from two of the three judges had us winning. The band opened up the season with a joint holiday concert with the Loveland High School Choir, followed by concerts with the Wyoming High School Band and the Cincinnati Honors Brass Band. This last concert also featured David Vining, professor of trombone at CCM, blazing through Carnival of Venice. Ron Holz was a guest conductor for our presentation at the Ohio Music Educators Association conference. The band concluded their indoor concerts with a performance at CCM’s Brass Extravanganza and the annual Memorial Day concert at Armstrong Chapel. The summer season included a joint concert with the Blue Ash Montgomery Symphony, and solo acts at Union Township, New Richmond, Blue Ash, and Madison, Indiana. These concerts featured Bob Gray playing Concert Brilliante and Ron Lutterbie on Over the Rainbow.
