The annual NABBA competition results were announced last night with a correction for the solo and ensemble awards. Firstly, there was an error in the technical solo cornet category. Catherine Dierkes was awarded second place this year for her outstanding solo!
After two days of competing against 13 other bands, a NABBA record 14 bands in any category historically, the Cincinnati Brass Band was awarded 2nd place! We were .6 of a point out of first place, and we are all very excited to receive our 2nd place award! We will post pictures of our award banner soon!
A great many thanks and congratulations to our director Dr. Joshua Thompson and all of our performing members that sacrificed their time and talents to win this great achievement! We would also like to thank all of our spouses, families, partners, and friends who supported us during our competition season! Thanks also to staff at Crestview Presbyterian Church West Chester Ohio for their continuing their support and hosting the band for rehearsals and concerts, and also to Lakota West Bands and director Andy Carr for their support support and performance at one of our preparation concerts.
NABBA national competition returns to Fort Wayne, Indiana in the Spring of 2025. The test piece for our section is Laude by Dr. James Curnow.
